I was watching the footage on the 7:30 report and it looked truely amazing… (If i was ever in charge of the holiday roster – I’d move Australia Day to be celebrated on Feb 13th…)
At school it was the same for me (70′s, 80′s for me too).. we heard all sorts of stories about injustices everywhere else (holocost etc) – but nothing about what happened to Australia’s indiginous people..  I heard that it’s going to become part of school carriculum now (the stolen generation part at least).

It really is shocking how some people have been treated and not really discussed in Australian schools (at least not when I went through… admittedly a couple of decades ago now :-S )
